Founded in 1969, the Friendship Home of Monroe provides a wide spectrum of services to the local community. In addition to our 24-hour  residential treatment program for alcoholic men, we offer longer term independent living for graduates of that same program. Every week, we provide meeting space for eleven different AA or ALANON groups and on a daily basis provide information and referrals to an even wider variety of individuals affected by chemical dependency. The Friendship Home of Monroe is indeed the center of the recovery community in Union County, working in concert with families, the court system, area hospitals, schools, in-patient treatment facilities and the various self-help groups that form the foundation of effective treatment for addiction.
